Participants will learn how to use fresh flowers and plants to create unique fabric art pieces by transferring natural dyes onto specially prepared fabric using a hammering technique. Each participant will create a fabric tote, bucket hat or bandana to take home. This class is recommended for ages 13+. This class will cover flower pounding basics, fabric preparation, and tips for choosing the best seasonal plants and flowers. Join us for a tour of Eureka Recycling, a non-profit zero wasta organization and social enterprise recycler based in Minneapolis.They are one of only a handful of non-profit recyclers in the United States and has provided recycling services and zero wasteeducation to the Twin Cities metro since 2001.This recycling tour is a partnership between CHPS Community Education and the City of Columbia Heights’ Refuse Department.Registration is required as transportation is provided but limited to 16 participants.
